Day 1 - Priorities

So Day 1 of the 30 Day habit training - talked about priorities. How to set effective goals. When you set goals - be sure that they are a good fit (like I mentioned in my previous post).

I learned a new word in this quick chapter - Intrinsic Priorities - areas of critical importance so ingrainded into who you are that you really need no accountability to honor them. So these are the things that I don't need to put on my list because they are already there and I do them with out thinking about them.

Setting your goals takes some thought and reflection into the person you want to be. So we had some homework. This homework did take some careful thought into who I wanted to be and why. Which then helped me chose my goals and priorities.

Start by brainstorming your priorities. Priorities are those things that if they were taken from you you would be devestated.  Get out a piece of paper and just start jotting down what you think your priorities are. Here are some questions to help you out. Who do you want to be? What do you want to accomplish? What makes you happy? What is your life purpose?

Now take a look at your list and star the five areas that are most important to you. Then list the top three (in no particular order).  Now rewrite the list in order of importance.

Look at the #1 on your list and answer this question: " The reason(s) I have placed the greatest importance on this area of my life is because.......

Now - look at #1 and ask your self how will you do your best to achieve it?

Write down what you won't do that will effect you not acheiving that goal.

Last, write down what you need to change to meet that priority.

That is just a little bit of what I did in this chapter to start finding out what it is I truly want and how to get there. I do need to make some changes not just to myself but also my surroundings.

Once you figure out what you want  - the rest should fall into place. :)

Time to get back at it!!!

Well wedding is over and I had my non healthy eating fun for the last couple weeks - now back at it! Can't stay off the wagon for too long!

Back before the wedding I bought the book PUSH, 30 Days to Turbocharged habits, a Bagin' Body, and the Life You Deserve by Chalene Johnson (she's part of Beachbody like Tony Horton and Shaun T) - its NOT a diet book - its a book about changing your habits so that you can become healthy and fit!!  So as I read the book I will report back to you after each chapter - so you can kinda enjoy the ride with me and maybe go out and buy her book.

Introduction:
Habits - it all starts with our habits.
Key to success is our Routine Behaviors (habits) - they are the behaviors (habits) we do naturally and dont need to give them much thought. For example - each time I get in my car I put my seatbelt on - its natural - its a habit. I don't think about it - I just do it. Brushing my teeth each morning - its natural - a habit. Making my shakeology shake in the morning - its natural - a habit. I think you get my point now. So why don't we make fitness a natural routine - a habit like brushing our teeth. We take care of our teeth - why not take care of our bodies??? we must break the bad habits and create successful ones!

So where do we start? When you build a house you start with what? Foundation right - well same goes with this - we must build our foundation first - then make our plan. Our foundation is our clear sense of who you are, what we value, our goals, and know what our strenghts and weaknesses are. Once we know who we are and what we want - then we can start making our goals.

We all have that inner voice that talks to us - sometimes that inner voice makes our decisions for us. Tells us that you can't lose that 10 lbs - no way. Go ahead and eat that bag of chips - you have had a hard day.. its ok. We need to start challenging that inner voice - remove the negative and replace with positive. As crazy as that sounds - it soooo works. Try it! Just for a day - anytime someone (or your inner voice) tells you something negative - switch it with something positive!!

The book is broken out into three parts - Part 1: The 30 Day Push, Part 2: Circuits, One Bangin' Body, and Part 3: Throw and Go receipes.

Next chapter - Day 1: Priorities..........

Side note first:  Within the introduction there was Daily PUSH - I thought the contents of it was awesome. So I wanted to share some of it with you....

"I think we can agree that to be healthy, both inside and out, you need balance. The cool thing about balance is that it't uniquely individual. How we spend out time and energy to create balance must be very personal". "Balance is possible only when you know how the scales should be set for you. Knowing how to balance  your personal equilibrium comes only with full understanding of who you are, what gives you joy, and how you then execute the design of your life". "We've been led to believe that if we look "hot" or drive a certain car or wear a size 2, our life will fall pefectly into place. The trute is, when you strip all of it away, the one trait we all share is that we seek happiness".

"We are the happiset when we feel worthy, deserving, accepted, and apprecaited. We are the happiest when we are organized, confident, and know that we have the power to build and life the life we deserve."

"While rapid-start diet plan is awfully exciting, reread that last paragraph. Do you really think dropping a couple of pounds by Friday will lead you to long-term happiness? Sorry. So try something different. Stop slapping a fresh coat of pain on the outside of a broken-down barn and let's do this right? Let's rebuild the foundation before we start building your new succesfully happy, healthly, balanced life."

Mrs. Johnson in the house...

Whoop whoop - I am finally Mrs. Denise Johnson!!! Our wedding was everything I could have asked for!!! No big problems - everything went great - Ben and Zachary looked great and I felt beautiful.

I feel like there is a list of people to thank for our special day - the list is long - but for blog purposes I'm going to thank some of our vendors who I thought were just AMAZING!!!

Dan Gilfialln and his wife Marilyn  - The best people to work with in planning our day at Gilfillans - the set up was great, the food was amazing, him allowing me to do all the odd things I wanted done (ie: window treatments - in the 18 yrs he has done weddings there no one has ever did what we did to the windows). He met with me numerous of times (even let me switch from upstairs to the downstairs) and everthing was perfect!! I would HIGHLY recommend Gilfillans for any function.

Stonybrook Photography - Sherie is not only a wonderful photographer - she is a great friend as well. I love her work so much and am so lucky to of had her be there to share my day with me and take all of our pics. Please visit her site at http://www.stonybrookphotography.com/ to see more of her amazing work and find her on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#!/Stonybrookphotography . She does maternity, newborn, 1 yr olds cake smashing, family photos, and more!!! Tell her I sent ya. :)

A-List Artistry - Holly was just amazing to work with. I contacted her a couple months before the wedding and she had our date open - thankfully - and OMG she made us look just amazing. I had Holly do my makeup, my girls, and my mom and just amazing!!! I have never felt so beautiful in my life. She put the right amount of makeup on - perfect colors - and it lasted all day - even through the happy tears. :) I plan on using A-List for all other events that I want to look my best at (I wish she could do  my makeup daily for work lol).  Please visit her sites at http://www.a-listartistry.com/ and her facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/A.ListArtistry?sk=info. Tell her I sent ya.

Twist and Shout Productions - Ted (aka Steve Kelly on 102.1) - was our DJ - he was great to work with as well. All the quirkly songs I wanted played - only the chorus, can you shorten some songs, etc and he did it with no problems.  He makes sure that your day goes as you wish!!!

Laurie Smith - She did our cupcakes, brownie pops, and our top cake. All was just amazing!!! I have had sooo many compliments on how it all tasted - and well there was less than a dozen of cupcakes left - so that right there tells ya something. :)

Bayberry Hairstylist: Maureen and Kim did an awesome job with our hair. When I had my pre-bridal I cried. The day of the wedding we tweeked it a little bit and OMG it was perfect. Exactly what I wanted. Maureen was amazing and takes her time and you can tell she just LOVES what she does and takes pride in her work. Bayberry Hairstylist also let Holly (A-List) set up shop there to do our makeup with no problems (guess other shops aren't as nice about it).  Bayberry even did a beer run for us girls - what service!!!! I can't say enough about them!! :)

Waste Not Recycled Art - for making my awesome picture for everyone to sign as our guest book. Mandy and Gregs work is just amazing (granted I'm bias as they are family)... but really the work they do just rocks. Check them out here... http://www.facebook.com/#!/wastenotrecycledart. :)

Well I'm sure there is a vendor I'm forgetting - but again I don't mean to. Here are a couple pics from the day.

So now that the wedding is all over with - I am enjoying being a wifey!! I love it!!! Its amazing!!!

Now time to get back to working out and helping others get fit!! Its my goal!! Have a great day everyone!!
